Quick and Easy
Picture Editing
You can easily do
some basic editing from the Design Window.
-
Resize
- you can make your pictures larger or smaller by dragging on the
handles on the corners, or from the Picture Properties
dialog box. Just right click on the image, then select Picture
Properties from the context menu. (see below)
|
-
Resample
- After resizing an image, you should resample it. If you have
enlarged a smaller image, resampling will add more data to make the
picture sharper and clearer. If you made a picture smaller,
resampling will remove unnecessary data to make the file size
smaller and load more quickly. Just right click on the image,
then select select Resample from the context menu.
- Context Menu - Right clicking on the image will
open the context menu show at left, so you can edit your image
easily right in FrontPage.

Pictures Toolbar

FrontPage comes
with some basic photo editing capabilities, which you can find on the
Pictures toolbar. Click on View, Toolbars, Pictures.
Or right click on the image and select Show Pictures Toolbar from the context
menu. You can:
Picture Properties Dialog
By right clicking
on the image and selecting Picture Properties, you can perform further edits in
your picture.

Microsoft Office Picture
Manager
If you have Microsoft
Office installed on your computer, you can also use the Microsoft
Office Picture Manager to edit your images. The image to
the right shows the menu options available through Picture Manager.
You can find this
application by clicking on Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office,
Microsoft Office Tools.
Adobe Photoshop Elements
Another great option is
to use an Adobe Photoshop product for image editing. I teach a
class on using
Adobe
Photoshop Elements, and this content can be access by clicking
on the link.
TechSmith SnagIt
All the screen shot
images in this web site were created using
SnagIt. This
program is quite inexpensive, and allows for adding text balloons,
arrows, and other elements to your image. I highly recommend it.
Photo editing is another
entire topic, and we are not going into depth in this class. In
the next sections we will learn what you need to know to insert, size,
and resample pictures in FrontPage. If you want to pursue this
topic in more depth, please see me outside of class, or sign up for my
photo editing class. |
